I have an ASUS GL753VE gaming laptop about 3 years old. It has a single side vent which works very well with this fan. The laptop does a good job of heat control, but it does get very warm while gaming. It does produce about 100 watts of heat. This fan mounts very easily and makes a very big difference on the laptops temp. I am at 9,000 ft. altitude, so cooling is difficult. On my test scene in Planet Crafters, the frame rate went from about 48+ with the fan, to about 41 without (graphic setting on high). Better performance and cooler on the hands. The fan is noisy but not bad. I have two minor complaints. My current fan is a year old and sometimes rattles a little at the lowest speed. It might just need cleaning. I do recommend blowing out the dust regularly. The second is the low temp threshold is too low. When not gaming, my laptop generates just enough heat to cause the fan to turn on and off constantly. Very annoying. I just turn it off when not doing heavy work or gaming. Would like to see low temp threshold at 95 or 100. Good fan, well worth the money.
I bought one a few years back and never used it. last week I pulled it out as my laptop was overheating after a recent windows update.
I connected the fan as per instructions, with no issue.
It rolls up in fan speed as the temperature of the exhaust air increases.
Ingenious design connects to my laptop without issue.
I am a fan engineer, and the engineering is sound. I installed RealTemp and it shows 50 degrees C and 49 until TJ Max.
Great product. I will be buying a spare just to be safe. Now if I can only get my Pixel 6 to stop overheating... Rob
I've had mine now for several years on different laptops. Mostly work laptops but some gaming ones too which are very toasty machines. Press the power button once and it turns on in automatic mode to only cool when the laptop gets over 80 Fahrenheit.
It is audible on max and you can always adjust it manually by pressing power again to a set speed so your laptop always stays really cool if desired. I'm impressed how compact and portable this thing is. The vents on my laptop are on the right side so the display is upside down regarding the temperatures but the buttons and functionality is still there so I don't care. Only real peeve is the audible noise on maximum but it is to be expected with the mere 1min or so it cools the laptop off at that speed.
Writing this review because the laptop I received for my new work role gave me a laptop that has a failing cooling fan and logistics these days is a few months for the laptop ordered for me! So far keeping my Lenovo Thinkpad T480s together (Intel i5-8350U CPU @ 1.90 GHz).
Keeps my laptop cool
Works as advertised, keeps my CPU/GPU running much cooler. My frames were dropping so low because of overheating. These babies keep my FPS nice and high. I'm running these on a Dell G3 laptop.
